Willibaldo Uy, the president and chief executive of mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. has passed away, the company said in a disclosure to the stock exchange Wednesday. Uy was 59.
“It is with great sadness that the company announces the passing of Mr. Willibaldo J. Uy, our president and CEO. The company deeply mourns the passing of Mr. Willibaldo J. Uy. The company will continue to remember and appreciate his achievements for and contributions to the company,” 8990 Holdings said.
8990 Holdings said chief operating officer Alexander Ace Sotto would carry out the duties of president in an acting capacity until a new president was appointed.
Uy became the president of 8990 Holdings on Jan. 1, 2018 to replace Januario Jesus Atencio. Prior to this, he was the COO of the company from February 2016 to January 2018.
Uy also held various positions with the Phinma Group of Companies.
Uy obtained his Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from De La Salle University.
He also obtained his Master in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
