The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently delivered essential aid to typhoon-affected employees and communities in Apayao Province as part of the 2024 Donation Drive led by Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan.
Assistant Secretary for Support Services Michael S. Villafranca spearheaded the ceremonial turnover of donations on December 13, 2024 at the DPWH Apayao 2nd District Engineering Office in Luna, Apayao.
“On behalf of Secretary Bonoan, I extend my heartfelt solidarity to our kababayans in Apayao who have been severely impacted by recent typhoons. The donations we are handing over today are not just material aid—they are symbols of hope, unity, and our shared commitment to help rebuild lives,” Villafranca said.
District Engineer Ronalyn P. Ubiña expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the initiative, which aligns with the Department’s 2024 Christmas theme: “Paskong DPWH: Pagkakaisa at Bayanihan, Tunay na Diwa ng Kapaskuhan.”
“To our donors and sponsors, your generous contributions are now in the hands of those who truly need them. Your support is a gift of hope to the people of Apayao,” Ubiña added.
This activity underscores DPWH’s alignment with the Bagong Pilipinas development agenda, which promotes hope, unity, and resilience among communities affected by disasters.
