THE pursuit of excellence continues for the Creamline Cool Smashers, along with their sister and brother teams in the Premier Volleyball League.
The teams plan to acquire new players, who will fill vacant spots in the squad to remain competitive in the mid-year tournaments, which are the PVL on Tour exhibition series and the Reinforced Conference.
In the offseason, the Cool Smashers let go of All-Filipino Conference Most Valuable Player Vanie Gandler after having won the crown.
The squad seeks to find new talents in the coming 2026 Rookie Draft on June 8, with talented players to choose from in the collegiate ranks.
Team officials said that after the team went back to practice on Wednesday, their buildup will also happen with players seeking action in the PVL on Tour and with the ongoing preparations of the Alas Pilipinas national women’s volleyball team.
“We are building and preparing the team, with the start of the practices, the PVL on Tour, and the ongoing preparations of the national squad,” said Rebisco sports head Kenneth Yu, following Wednesday’s thanksgiving with Allianz PNB Life.
Allianz PNB Life is the top corporate sponsor of the squad and two other teams, Criss Cross King Crunchers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
The King Crunchers recently won the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference championship, following a back-to-back title run by defeating the Savouge Spin Doctors in a thrilling, winner-take-all Game 3.
The Choco Mucho Flying Titans made it to the semifinals of the recent All-Filipino Conference.
“We celebrate the achievements of the team in the last 12 months with the two championship teams and the performance of Choco Mucho,” said Joseph Gross, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Allianz PNB Life, a major life insurance company in the Philippines.
Gross led corporate officials in handing checks and incentives to all members of the three teams.
