President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. warned on Sunday, August 3, he is ready to cut ties with government officials who are failing to provide proper aid to Filipinos.
In a 28-second teaser for the third episode of his BBM Podcast, the President was heard implying that he will not tolerate public officials who are causing the plight of citizens.
“Somebody has to answer for their sufferings,” Mr. Marcos told broadcast journalist Ivan Mayrina of GMA News, who was doing the interview.
Mayrina asked if he was willing to ‘crack the whip’ against underwhelming public officials. President Marcos answered in the affirmative even if it risks cutting ties with his allies.
“Sorry na lang. Hindi na kita kaalyado kung ganyan ang ginagawa mo. Ayaw na kitang kaalyado (I’m sorry, but you’re not my ally anymore if that’s what you’re doing. I don’t want to keep an alliance with you),” Mr. Marcos said.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) dropped the teaser on Sunday evening after President Marcos ordered deeper probe into various industries and government agencies, which failed to deliver satisfactory public services during his fourth State of the Nation Address last July 28.
