The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the US Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) on Thursday launched a $2.7-million newly completed fuel storage facility at the Brig. Gen. Benito N. Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
The project, bankrolled by Washington under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), features two storage tanks with 75,708 liters capacity apiece.
“It also features a modern fuel handling system, a covered parking area for refueling trucks, and a secured perimeter, designed and constructed compliant to security and safety standards,” PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said.
Construction of the project started on June 22, 2022 and was completed on Sept. 6, 2024.
