Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday joined the Muslim Ummah in the Philippines and around the world in marking Eid al-Fitr, highlighting Ramadan as a time of prayer, sacrifice, and reflection.
In a video message, Duterte praised Filipinos for their resilience and dedication.
“To my fellow Filipinos, your resilience and hard work continue to be a source of pride for our nation,” she said.
“May the spirit of Eid bring you comfort and remind you that your contributions to your families and our country are deeply valued,” she added.
The Vice President also offered a prayer for global peace, expressing hope that the lessons of Ramadan would inspire unity and collective action.
“As we celebrate this time of joy and thanksgiving, we also offer a fervent prayer for peace across the world. May the lessons of Ramadan inspire us to work together toward a global community that is inclusive, safe, and anchored in the pursuit of the common good,” Duterte said.
“May your homes be filled with peace, and may your hearts be filled with the light of Allah’s blessings,” she added.
Earlier, the Bangsamoro Grand Mufti announced that Filipino Muslims will observe Eid’l Fitr on March 21 after the crescent moon, or hilal, was not sighted.
