32 OFWs fleeing Mideast conflict return home

Thirty-two repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their dependents from the Middle East safely arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Tuesday evening aboard Oman Air flight WY843.

Of the 32 arrivals, 21 OFWs came from Dubai and two from Oman, while nine were dependents accompanying the workers.

The repatriation was facilitated by the Philippine government as part of ongoing efforts to bring Filipinos home safely amid the continuing crisis in the Middle East.

DMW Secretary Leo Hans Cacdac said that upon arrival, the repatriates were received by government personnel who provided initial assistance, including documentation processing and coordination for onward travel to their respective home provinces.

The DMW said the returning OFWs and their families will also receive immediate support from concerned agencies, including temporary assistance and reintegration services, as part of the government’s continuing aid program for Filipinos affected by regional tensions.
