Cebu gov’t reactivates dormant heritage panel

CEBU City— The Cebu Heritage Commission has resumed operations after years of inactivity and presented a proposed 2026–2028 heritage conservation plan aimed at safeguarding the province’s cultural assets while supporting social, economic, and environmental goals.

During its first meeting on March 5 at the Governor’s Conference Room, the panel discussed amendments to the 18-year-old Cebu Provincial Heritage Site Ordinance ratified in 2008 to broaden its scope and strengthen legal protections for heritage sites across the province.
