QC mayor cites firm on job offers for locals

QUEZON City Mayor Joy Belmonte has lauded the effort of Joyride Philippines, a ride-hailing company to provide decent and safe employment for city residents, also called QCitizens ,during the opening of a three-day onboarding event of the firm  at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

“First and foremost, I would like to clarify for the record that I am not the owner of JoyRide. I have no shares here,” Belmonte pointed out in apparent reference to the company’s use of her first name.

“Our work must be clean and decent work. Our income must come from honest sources. We condemn all forms of corruption in Quezon City,” she stressed.

She said Quezon City has 3.3 million residents, citing most workers in various parts of Metro Manila are city residents who must go to their places of work safely, and come home in like fashion at the end of the day.
