PMA honors generals, grants alumnus awards

The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on Saturday, Jan 10, rendered a testimonial parade and review in honor of some generals and flag officers at the Borromeo Field in Fort del Pilar, Baguio City.

Feted were Vice-Admiral Alfonso Torres Jr., chief of Western Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines; Vice-Admiral Roy Echevarria, head of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of Philippine Coast Guard; Maj. Gen. Michelle Anayron, commander of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army; Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, The Naval Inspector General, Philippine Navy; Commodore Zosimo Bolanos, assistant deputy chief for personnel (AJ1), AFP; Brig. Gen. Cesar Molina of the Northern Luzon Command,, and Brig. Gen. Edgar Torres, assistant deputy chief for civic-military operations (AJ7), AFP.

The honorees also received the Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award (Ulirang Alumnus ng Akademiya) in recognition of their distinguished service in various fields of endeavors and designations in their respective Command designations. These milestones in their respective careers are testimonies of their exceptional leadership and dedication that brought honor to the Academy.

In his remarks, Torres shared four basic principles that guided him throughout his assignments and service: (1) follow rules and regulations, (2) do your job and do it well, (3) set an example, and (4) take care of yourself.
