Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival on Saturday announced that the death toll from the recent landfill collapse in the Brgy. Binaliw has risen to four, as rescue operations continue for dozens who remain missing.
According to him, 12 others have since been sent to hospitals.

“Authorities confirmed… detected signs of life in specific areas, requiring continued careful excavation and the deployment of a more advanced 50-ton crane,” Archival posted on social media.
“Safety of responders remains paramount due to hazards such as unstable debris and acetylene risks, prompting adjustments to the security perimeter and controlled access,” he added.
At least 36 people were reported missing based on a Friday tally.
