At least 10 Catholic priests and one religious brother joined the ranks of the country’s newest lawyers after passing the 2025 Bar Examinations.
A compilation by CBCP News based on congratulatory posts from dioceses and religious communities showed that the successful examinees came from across the country and from different forms of Church service.
Among those who passed were diocesan priests Fr. Mcwellroe Bringas of Tagum, Fr. Marcelo Operiano Jr. of Tagbilaran, and Fr. Danilo Dela Bajan of Masbate, alongside Fr. Eric Marigondon of Legazpi, Fr. Gerald Lacson of Antique, and Fr. Joel Pepito Oriesga of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
The list also included two chaplains serving under the Military Ordinariate: Fr. Rommel Kiamko of the Philippine Air Force and Fr. Gil Rochar Dulay of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
From religious congregations, Augustinian Fr. Generous Gonesto and Fr. Florante Moren of the Alagad ni Maria religious institute were also among those who passed.
Joining them was Br. Dominador Valdez Jr., a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Philippines, Province of San Pedro Bautista.
