The Quezon City government has recorded a significant drop in the number of fireworks-related injuries during the holiday season festivities.
Based on the reports of all hospitals in the city as collated by the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division under the City Health Department, there were 40 fireworks-related injuries from Dec. 21, 2025 to Jan. 2.

This represented a 62 percent decrease compared to the 107 reported cases during the same period last year.
At least 29 of the total cases were individuals who were associated with passive involvement or spectators in fireworks use, while 11 were actively involved or held the firecrackers themselves.
