The Philippines has been re-elected by consensus as an ad hoc member of the Standing Committee of the International Development Law Organization for the 2025–2027 term, the Philippine Embassy in Italy said.
The embassy said the re-election reaffirms the country’s active role and sustained commitment to advancing the rule of law and access to justice.
Ambassador and Permanent Representative Neal Imperial reiterated the Philippines’ strong support for IDLO’s mandate to strengthen justice systems and institutions for sustainable development.
During the session, the Philippines cited the need to enhance burden- and responsibility-sharing to help IDLO deliver results amid funding constraints.
The election was held on Dec. 12 in Rome during the 2025 Annual Meeting of the IDLO Assembly of Parties.
