HKS alumni group honors newly elected officials

The Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Association of the Philippines (HKSAAP) held a recognition ceremony to honor alumni recently elected or appointed to national and local government positions.

The HKSAAP Bureaucrats Ball celebrated the growing presence of HKS graduates in public service and reaffirmed their commitment to integrity, competence, and compassion.

During the event, honorees received official HKS pins, symbolizing their duty to uphold good governance, ethical leadership, and evidence-based policy-making.

Among those recognized were Court of Appeals Associate Justice Edilwasif Baddiri; Cebu Governor Pamela “Pam” Baricuatro; Cesar Chavez, chief of staff to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno; Albay First District Rep. Krisel Cielo Lagman; FPJ Panday Bayanihan Rep. Brian Poe Llamanzares; Dr. Ronald U. Mendoza, Undersecretary for Strategic Management at the Department of Education; and Masbate Board Member Atty. Vincent Revil.

HKSAAP leaders said the honorees exemplify the school’s mission of developing principled public leaders capable of addressing complex national and global challenges. The gathering underscored the importance of public service amid issues such as climate risks, economic recovery, digitalization, and institutional strengthening.

The event was attended by key figures from government, civil society, and the private sector, including Transportation Undersecretary Anneli Lontoc, Ayala Foundation president Tony Lambino, ECCRI president Glenn Banaguas, and HKSAAP president Gianna Montinola. The evening ended with messages encouraging continued collaboration, policy innovation, and service-driven leadership.
