CFO helps Pinoy workers in Spain

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is stepping up efforts to help Filipinos adjust to life in Spain, especially those facing challenges due to language barriers that often prevent them from finding jobs or joining mainstream society.

CFO officials noted that many Filipino professionals in Catalonia have difficulty getting their credentials recognized, forcing them to take domestic or lower-skilled jobs instead.

To address these issues, the agency is strengthening coordination with the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Madrid to link Filipinos with programs that can support their integration.

The initiatives include the Guidance and Counseling Program, Peer Counseling, and the Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (LINKAPIL), which allows overseas Filipinos to contribute to development projects back home.

The CFO said it remains committed to ensuring that Filipinos abroad are well-supported and given fair opportunities to succeed in their host countries.
