Manila health certificates valid for 1 year from issuance

Manila Mayor Francisco Moreno Domagoso announced on Wednesday that health certificates issued by the city government will now be valid for one (1) full year from their issuance.

He made this announcement while reinstating the policy to spare workers and business owners from premature certificate renewals.

“When you are issued a health certificate, and if it is valid for one year, no matter what month you acquired it, it will not expire on December 31 — it will expire on the day, one year after the issuance,” he said.

The Manila City Local Health Board approved the change following Domagoso’s meeting with fast food managers in the city who raised the issue.

He noted that this will streamline health and business-related transactions, reducing unnecessary costs and inconvenience for employees and business owners.

The policy being replaced provided certificates that expired on December 31 of the year of issuance.
