Senior high school graduates under the K-to-12 program can now apply for entry-level government jobs, following a new policy approved by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s administration.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued Resolution No. 2500229, which updates qualification standards to include Grade 10 completers and Grade 12 graduates from 2016 onward. The guidelines, announced by Malacañang, also recognize tech-voc graduates with TESDA NC II certification.
Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said the move expands opportunities for young Filipinos and supports the K-to-12 program’s goal of improving employability.
The updated rules apply to clerical, custodial, and other sub-professional posts, though jobs requiring specific degrees or licenses are not included. Applicants must still meet requirements like training, experience, and eligibility.
The CSC emphasized that hiring remains at the discretion of appointing authorities, in accordance with civil service laws and regulations.
