Alyansa Senate bets end campaign with ‘gratitude and hope’

The senatorial candidates of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas yesterday ended their national election campaign with a message of gratitude and hope as the latest surveys show them dominating the race for the Senate’s 12 seats.

Campaign manager and Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco thanked the Filipino people, campaign volunteers, local leaders, and members of the media who supported and covered the coalition’s campaign.

“As we come to the end of this historic campaign, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who made this journey possible. To all the volunteers, local leaders, supporters, and especially to our compatriots who warmly welcomed us in every corner of the country, thank you very much,” he said in a statement.

The latest Social Weather Stations survey shows at least nine of the 11 Alyansa candidates in the winner’s circle.

ACT-CIS Party-list nominee Erwin Tulfo has reclaimed the top spot, garnering 45% support, representing an increase of 2 percentage points from April.

Opposition PDP Senator Bong Go slipped to second place with 43%.

Former Senate President Tito Sotto rose to 3rd place with 37%, followed by Senator Lito Lapid and broadcaster Ben Tulfo, independent, who are tied at 34%.

Former Senator Ping Lacson made a notable comeback, jumping to 6th place from 11th after increasing his support to 32%.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay and PDP bet Senator Bato Dela Rosa are tied in the 7th-8th spots with 31%.

Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar remains steady in 10th place with 30%, while Senator Pia Cayetano dropped to 9th-10th with 30%.

Senators Bong Revilla and Imee Marcos, who withdrew from Alyansa, are tied in 11th-12th place with 29%.

Just outside the top 12 are former Senator Manny Pacquiao, TV host Willie Revillame, and former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, who all received 24% preference.

Not far behind were former Senator Bam Aquino with 23% and former Senator Kiko Pangilinan with 21%.

Tiangco also thanked the media for what he called fair and consistent coverage throughout the campaign.

“We also want to sincerely thank the members of the media for your tireless coverage and fair reporting. You helped bring our message to millions of Filipinos. The reach of this campaign would not be as wide without you,” he said.

Tiangco said Alyansa’s campaign has centered on “accountability, competence, and putting the Filipino people first,” fully aligned with President Marcos’ “Bagong Pilipinas” agenda.

“We believe we have built something strong and genuine. We are hopeful that on May 12, the Filipino people will elect a Senate that will help President Marcos deliver on his promises and move the country forward,” Tiangco said.

He added: Thank you very much again on behalf of the entire Alliance for a New Philippines. Your trust is our strength. Let’s serve the people together. Long live our beloved Philippines.
