There will be no number coding in effect Tuesday, April 1, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)
“The implementation of the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme is suspended tomorrow, April 1, 2025, in observance of Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadan, a regular holiday,” the MMDA stated in its advisory on Monday.
During the coding hours on this date, vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4 will be allowed to travel on the main streets of Metro Manila.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared April 1, 2025, a regular holiday across the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr, the feast marking the end of Ramadan.
The proclamation, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 20, was made under Republic Act No. 9177, which designates Eid’l Fitr as a national holiday.
The MMDA said the UVVRP, or number coding system, was designed to regulate the presence of vehicles on major roads on specific days based on the last digit of their license plate.
The coding system applies as follows: 1 and 2 for Monday, 3 and 4 for Tuesday, 5 and 6 for Wednesday, 7 and 8 for Thursday, and 9 and 0 for Friday.
The coding hours are from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, except on holidays.
