The Office of the Vice President (OVP) reported a bomb threat that led to the sudden disruption of its operations on Monday afternoon.
After a staff member said they received a text message containing a bomb threat, OVP personnel were immediately evacuated to a secured area of the Robinsons Cybergate Plaza in Mandaluyong.
The Mandaluyong City Police Office then dispatched an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to conduct a thorough search but found no explosive devices.
The OVP has since resumed operations as of 4 p.m.
“Bomb threats are a serious matter concerning public security and safety,” the OVP said in a media release.
“The public is reminded that hoax bomb threats can endanger lives and are punishable by law under Presidential Decree No. 1727, also known as the Anti-Bomb Joke Law,” it added.
