PAGASA on Tuesday reported it is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
As of 2 p.m. today, the LPA was located 305 kilometers southwest of Kalayaan, Palawan.

It has a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, according to the state weather bureau’s 24-hour tropical cyclone formation outlook issued at 4 p.m.
PAGASA has since advised all stakeholders to monitor updates.
In a separate weather advisory issued at 5 p.m., the bureau forecast moderate to heavy rainfall (50 to 100 mm) in several provinces up until Thursday afternoon. Namely, these are Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon.
