INSPIRED by the positive rating of President Marcos in the implementation of the housing program for the poor, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Friday vowed to sustain the momentum gained in the nationwide implementation of the administration’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
“We take this positive rating of the President and the administration as an inspiration to do better and more for our countrymen, particularly the poor,” housing czar Jose Rizalino Acuzar said.
“The order of the President is to extend all the assistance we could give through a decent, safe and affordable housing,” he added.
A latest Social Weather Stations survey showed that 59 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with the Marcos administration, while those dissatisfied went down to 23 percent.
In terms of the administration’s performance on issues, the Chief Executive got +65 rating in helping disaster victims, classified as very good, and received +49 in implementing housing programs for the poor which is equivalent to good.
The DHSUD has been spearheading the nationwide implementation of the flagship 4PH.
Some partner-local government units have already started delivery of housing units to beneficiaries since December.
At least 56 projects under 4PH are now in various stages of development and construction with several condominium-type buildings already completed in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao, the DHSUD said.
The department has also been actively involved in disaster responses, launching two programs for calamity victims last year.
It also took part in the conveyor belt of aid ordered by the President following series of destructive typhoons.
