In a statement, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cesar Chavez announced that Philippine Ambassador to the United States, Jose Manuel Romualdez, will represent President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at the events marking the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

“The Palace confirms that the Secretary of State, on behalf of the Joint Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, invited the Chiefs of Diplomatic Missions, along with their spouses, to represent their respective heads of state and their governments at the principal inaugural events. In this case, Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez will represent PBBM at the inauguration,” Chavez stated.

When asked about a possible meeting between President Marcos and President Trump in the early months of 2025, Chavez indicated that no confirmation has been made regarding such a visit.

“Details about a possible U.S. visit are still under discussion, and no final decision has been reached,” Chavez added.
