The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Friday that Kanlaon Volcano in Negros province experienced more ash emission events on Thursday.
At least three ash emission events were recorded, lasting up to 52 minutes.
This is an increase compared to the two similar events noted on Wednesday.
The volcano emitted 5,756 tons of sulfur dioxide gas, which is lower than the 6,014 tons reported in the previous bulletin.
Moderate plumes reached heights of up to 100 meters, with continuous degassing and occasional ash emissions observed, drifting south-southwest and southwest.
A total of 16 volcanic earthquakes, including six volcanic tremors lasting up to 52 minutes, were recorded on Thursday, which is fewer and shorter than the 20 earthquakes recorded on Wednesday.
The volcano’s edifice remains inflated, and Alert Level 3 is still in effect over Kanlaon Volcano.
