The Office for Transportation Security collaborated with the Department of Health and the House of Representatives to enhance the health and wellness of its personnel.
The partnership resulted in the provision of 301 flu vaccines and 230 pneumococcal vaccines to protect against pneumococcal infections, including severe diseases.
The OTS launched the vaccination drive offering flu and pneumonia vaccines to employees, which will run until the end of the year. This initiative aims to safeguard the health of those who play a critical role in ensuring the safety of travelers.
As flu season approaches and with the ongoing threat of pneumonia, the importance of immunization cannot be overstated. The vaccination drive is designed to minimize the risk of illness and ensure that employees remain healthy and effective in their essential roles within the transportation industry.
“By providing these vital vaccines, we are not only protecting the health of OTS employees but also enhancing the safety and well-being of all travelers who pass through our airport security screening checkpoints every day,” said OTS Administrator Undersecretary Crizaldo Nieves.
