Meralco Power Academy (MPA), the energy education unit of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), teamed up with the National Power Corp. (Napocor) to further enhance the skills and capabilities of their line crew.
About 35 line crew of Napocor’s Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) participated in the 24-day training program that involved classroom discussions and hands-on trainings that aim to assess, develop and equip them with required skills and competencies. Best practices in occupational health and safety are some of the focus areas of the course.
The personnel who attended the training were served in NAPOCOR SPUG areas in Palawan, Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Catanduanes, Masbate and Marinduque.
The training program is part of MPA’s roster of educational offerings geared towards enabling and empowering energy talents to enhance their expertise and adapt to the changes in the energy landscape by leveraging Meralco’s more than 120 years of industry leadership.
