The AFP recognized the service of Brigadier General Fermin Carangan as he stepped down from his position as AFP Procurement Service Commander.
The event, held under the leadership of AFP Vice Chief of Staff LtGen Arthur Cordura, marked BGen Carangan’s retirement and the official transition of duties to the incoming Acting Commander, Colonel Crisanto Prado.
BGen Carangan, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992, has had a distinguished career, including his prior role as AFP Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, J7.
LtGen Cordura lauded BGen Carangan for his commitment to improving the AFP’s procurement systems and emphasized the significant contributions he made during his tenure.
Col. Prado, the newly appointed Acting Commander, brings extensive expertise to the position as the former Director of the Philippine Army Support Command’s Research and Development Center.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Management with a focus on Development and Security from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
In his address, LtGen Cordura expressed confidence in Col. Prado’s leadership, highlighting his potential to sustain and advance the goals of the AFP Procurement Service.
