LPA unlikely to strengthen into a tropical depression, PAGASA says

The low pressure area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) remains unlikely to develop into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said.

As of 8 am, PAGASA reported that a tropical depression also being monitored is unlikely to enter PAR.

DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Aldczar D. Aurelio said that the low pressure area is in the West Philippine Sea, 165 km west-northwest of Coron, Palawan and within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Meanwhile, the tropical depression 2,540 km east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds near the center at 55 km/h will generally be moving north.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect Batangas, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, Mimaropa, and Bicol region.

No gale warning has been raised.
