Pintô Art Museum and Arboretum has launched Homage to Gaia, its traditional year-end exhibition, which features more than 300 artists in what the museum describes as its most expansive show to date.
The exhibition, which opened on Nov. 23, spans all four Upper Galleries and the Ilustrado I and II spaces at Gallery 7, creating a wide survey of Philippine visual arts through works by emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Their pieces showcase a broad mix of materials, styles, and techniques.

Despite the range of approaches, the artists work under a common theme centered on Gaia, the Greek personification of Earth and a symbol of nature’s power, beauty, and fragility. Curated by Ferdie Montemayor, the exhibition is presented as a response to escalating environmental crises linked to human consumption, underscored by the devastation caused by recent superstorms Tino and Uwan and the fatal flash floods that followed.
The museum said the exhibition reflects Pintô’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, consistent with its design and setting, which integrates art, architecture, and nature through lush landscaping and sustainable practices.
Homage to Gaia runs through Dec. 28 and is open to the public.
