Bataan Las Casas heritage resort reopens

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, the country’s only heritage resort located in Bagac, Bataan, is reopening to receive guests starting June 16, three months after the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with its recently launched “Secured Stays at Las Casas” campaign, the 400-hectare, 217-room property aspires to redefine cleanliness and safety measures to bring back guests’ confidence in hotel stays and traveling in general.

Marivent Resort Hotel, Inc. president Paul Kerr emphasized that the brand gives utmost importance on the safety of its guests and employees and derives guidance from the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) for stringent health and sanitation standards.

Health protocols under the campaign include contactless check-in, disinfection of high-touch areas, and implementation of face masks, thermal scanning, and physical distancing.

A part of Historic Hotels Worldwide, Las Casas was awarded by Destination Deluxe as Asia’s Most Excellent Destination in 2017. and is included in the Conde Nast Johansens Luxury Global Collection and Hotels Pencities Luxe Guide.

Bataan continues to register optimistic recovery statistics for the virus, and Las Casas Filipinas and provincial officials are optimistic at the prospects of flattening the curve of COVID within the province.
