Angeles City emerged anew as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, securing second place in the Top Tourist Destination-City category at the Tourism Recognition for Enterprises and Stakeholders (TRES) Awards 2024.
Angeles Mayor Carmelo Lazatin was represented by city tourism officer-in-charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui in accepting the award during the ceremony hosted by DOT-Region 3 at Fil-Invest Mimosa+ Leisure City, Clark Freeport Zone.
The recognition highlights the city’s continuous efforts to boost tourism through programs that promote local heritage, culture, and economic growth, spearheaded by Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas and executive assistant IV Reina Manuel.
Strengthening the tourism industry has been one of Mayor Lazatin’s flagship programs, with initiatives focused on sustained promotion and development to attract more visitors and support local businesses.
