Bacoor—The SM Foundation has turned over a refurbished Sagip Buhay and Recovery City Health Center to the local government of Bacoor City to ensure quality health and medical services to 129,021 residents of Bayanan.

Bacoor City Mayor Lani Revilla (2nd from right) shakes hands with SM Foundation Executive Director for Health and Medical Programs Connie Angeles after unveiling the Sagip Center’s marker and its refurbished facilities (inset).

It includes the nearby communities of Barangays Ligas I, II, & III; Mambog I-IV; and San Nicolas I, II & III.

This is the 161st SM Wellness Center following the turnover of the Butuan Medical Center less than a month ago.

Sagip Buhay and Recovery City Health Center houses the City Health Unit of Barangay Bayanan.

Its renovation by SM Foundation was made through the initiative of Bacoor City Health Officer Dr. Ivy Marie Yrastorza, who with Mayor Lani Mercado- Revilla requested the upgrade of the facility.

Sagip Buhay is a two-story building located within the Bacoor Government Center, with the Bacoor City Health Office occupying its second floor and the Basic Medical Services (City Health Unit–Bayanan) on the ground floor.

The refurbishment included the provision of new furniture, appliances, and basic medical equipment. A lounge was provided for seniors, and a play area for children.

Part of the renovation and refurbishment were the Pharmacy, Dental Clinic, Physical Therapy Clinic, Doctors’ Clinic, Animal Bite Center, Smoking Cessation Clinic, Children’s Clinic and Cold Chain Storage Area.

Connie Angeles, Executive Director for Health & Medical Programs of SMFI, hopes that with the renovation, the center will be able to deliver basic health services to the community.
