Comelec: 460 voters join mock poll in BARMM

A total of 460 voters participated in mock elections held in Marawi City and Tawi-Tawi in preparation for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) elections scheduled for October 13, 2025, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Saturday.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said each of the eight clustered precincts accommodated at least 50 voters. The mock polls were held in Marawi City and Butig in Lanao del Sur, and Bongao and Simunul in Tawi-Tawi.

Voting ran from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with Comelec closely monitoring the proceedings, including the vote transmission system and the consolidation and canvassing process to ensure accuracy.

In Lanao del Sur, mock elections were conducted in the villages of Sagonsongan and Dulay in Marawi, and in Bayabao Poblacion and Dilimbayan in Butig. In Tawi-Tawi, the activity was held in Tubig-Boh and Ungus-Ungus in Bongao, and in Tubig Indangan and Bagid in Simunul.

Election stakeholders such as the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), NAMFREL, LENTE, regional political parties, and other civic groups observed the process at the Comelec Monitoring Center in Palacio del Gobernador, Manila. Vito Barcelo
