The Taguig City government on Monday announced the designated firecracker zones for the New Year celebration.
City officials also reminded residents that the local government strictly prohibits the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics in private homes and residential neighborhoods.
The designated firecracker zones aim to ensure public safety while allowing residents to enjoy traditional festivities.
Fireworks are allowed only in designated zones located in barangays with open spaces, at least five meters away from buildings and establishments, and with emergency support such as on-site fire trucks, ambulances, medical personnel, fire extinguishers, and trained response teams.
In District 1, the firecracker zones are Bambang (open basketball court on Kentucky Street and Mahogany Place 2, Block 3, Lots 2 and 4, San Dimas Street); Hagonoy (Hagonoy Sports Complex outside parking area); Lower Bicutan (Lakeshore Barge, organized events only; individual use of firecrackers is not allowed); Napindan-Samama (Dulo) open area in Purok 5 Extension Tabing Ilog and Purok 5 in front of Jelly Port; New Lower Bicutan (C-6 Road near the CDRRM Office); San Miguel (Victoria Compound basketball court in St. Michael and open basketball court near the barangay hall); Tuktukan (J.P. Rizal Street); and Wawa (barangay road and along Guerrero Street).
In District 2, firecrackers are allowed in Central Bicutan–Osano Park; Central Signal Zone 8, Ballecer Street (in front of Signal Village National High School); Fort Bonifacio–5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City (organized events only); Katuparan (open space of the Materials Recovery Facility on 7th Street); Pinagsama–McKinley Hill (organized events only); South Daang Hari–Lakefront; and Upper Bicutan (in front of the barangay hall).
A no-firecracker zone has been declared in Bagumbayan, Calzada-Tipas, Comembo, Ibayo-Tipas, Ligid-Tipas, Palingon, Pembo, Rizal, Sta. Ana, Tuktukan–J.P. Rizal Street, and Ususan in District 1; and Cembo, East Rembo, Maharlika, North Daang Hari, North Signal, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside, South Cembo, South Signal, Tanyag, Western Bicutan, and West Rembo in District 2.
Mayor Laarni Cayetano encouraged residents to adhere to the guidelines and celebrate responsibly.
“Let’s keep the festivities bright and hazard-free. Celebrate with joy, prioritize safety, and let’s start the New Year right,” she said.
