SOME 2,000 sari-sari store owners in General Trias City in Cavite need not pay their business permits this year, courtesy of the Sangguniang Panglungsod and the Mayor’s office.
Mayor Luis Ferrer IV and Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen led the presentation of an approved ordinance imposing a moratorium on the collection of business permit fees for sari-sari stores in the city.
Sari sari store owners however, must meet some preconditions to be qualified for the exemption.
They must have a firm name approved by the Department of Trade and Industry, must submit a picture of the store unit as proof, must secure a clearance from their respective homeowners association or developer, must secure Barangay Business Clearanc,e and must comply with existing laws and ordinance in the conduct of their business.
