The Boracay Tubi System Inc. (BTSI), a subsidiary of MacroAsia Corporation, received the Water-Wise Award from the National Water Resources Board during the 2026 World Water Day Awards ceremony on March 19 at the Diamond Hotel Manila.
BTSI president James Molina and chief operating officer and general manager Charmian Molina accepted the award, which recognizes water conservation programs that deliver significant and sustainable savings and promote innovative strategies benefiting the country’s water resources.
The company cited its role in supporting the sustainability of Boracay Island through environmental compliance, wastewater management solutions, and investments aimed at improving water security and operational resilience.
Its sustainability framework focuses on three programs: reducing non-revenue water to minimize distribution losses, reusing treated wastewater to curb freshwater demand, and educating customers on responsible water use.
In a recorded message, MacroAsia president and BTSI chairman Eduardo Luis Tan Luy said, “Receiving the Water Wise Award strengthens our resolve to continuously improve our systems, build stronger partnerships, and ensure equitable and reliable water service for all stakeholders in Boracay.”
“We also acknowledge the government agencies that guide and support Boracay’s designation as a Water Quality Management and Conservation Area,” Luy added.
BTSI said the recognition reinforces its commitment to sustainable water management and long-term water resilience on the island.
BTSI operates a full waterworks system in Boracay, covering sourcing, treatment, distribution, and septage management.
It also owns Monad Water Sewerage Systems Inc. and New Earth Water Systems Inc., expanding its services across Aklan and other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
