Members of the ASEAN Working Committee on Financial Inclusion (WC-FINC) hold their 21st meeting from Feb. 9 to 10, 2026 in Panglao, Bohol. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas represented the Philippines in the ASEAN WC-FINC. Discussions highlighted financial health as one of the priority economic deliverables of the Philippines as ASEAN Chair in 2026. While financial inclusion has improved significantly across ASEAN, many households continue to face challenges in managing debt and maintaining adequate financial buffers. This underscores the need to promote consumer financial health, defined as the ability to meet financial obligations, withstand setbacks, and pursue goals with confidence.
