Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza (center) meets with officials of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) led by executive-director Matthew David, at the BIR National Office on Jan. 28, 2026, to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in combating money laundering and other financial crimes. The meeting focused on future joint initiatives, including preparations for the Philippines’ 2027 Mutual Evaluation by the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering, coordination on cases, support for AMLA amendments and deputizing BIR investigators to boost enforcement.
