Isabela province in Northern Luzon unfolds its annual Bambanti Festival described as a cultural and thanksgiving celebration held every fourth week of January, with the pliant and sturdy bamboo as the centerpiece. Bambanti is an Ilocano word for scarecrow, hence the event is also called the Scarecrow Festival.
