Speaker Martin Romualdez leads the groundbreaking rites for the P388-million Submarine Cable Inter-Connection Project at the Ayala Estate in Sicogon Island, Iloilo Friday morning. With him are Iloilo Board Member Binky Tupas, Iloilo 5th District Rep. Raul Tupas, Fernando Zobel de Ayala, Iloilo Electric Cooperative III Gen. Manager James Basomo II, and Carles Mayor Siegfredo Betita. The project would connect the islands of Manlot, Calagnaan, and Sicogon to the main grid to provide 24/7 supply of power to nine barangays in these islands, which would benefit an estimated 13,000 households.
