Consumers buy tomatoes at P280 per kilo at the Marikina public market on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Retail prices of tomatoes in Metro Manila have gone up by as much as 400 percent since the weekend due to a substantial decrease in local supply following a series of typhoons that devastated parts of the country last year.
