FOR many senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Barangay Bagumbayan, basic health and hygiene supplies can make a significant difference. This week, nearly 140 residents received essential care through the community outreach ‘Handog at Alay Saya sa Bagumbayan’, led by the Rotary Club of Makati Business District (RCMBD) in partnership with philanthropist Nix Roman. Local volunteers helped deliver vital health and hygiene support to those who need it most.

The outreach focused on the daily needs of elderly residents and PWDs—many of whom face limited mobility and reduced access to healthcare. Beneficiaries received Nestlé products, hygiene kits, and other basic necessities aimed at preventing common illnesses and improving overall well-being.
“This initiative is about bringing service directly to where it matters,” said Maria Victoria “Bing” Daza, President of RCMBD. “By collaborating with local partners, we can reach those often overlooked and ensure that support arrives where it is truly needed.”
The mission underscores RCMBD’s ongoing commitment to community health, hygiene, nutrition, and support for vulnerable populations. Local leaders, including Punong Barangay Hon. Randy G. Gatdula and the Barangay Council, welcomed the outreach as a meaningful complement to municipal social services. This effort was made possible through the generous support of Nestlé Philippines and RCMBD’s mother club, the Rotary Club of Makati.
The ‘Handog at Alay Saya sa Bagumbayan’ initiative is part of RCMBD’s broader dedication to rural community development in Bataan, with plans to extend similar health-focused programs to other communities across the country.
