President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has inaugurated the first Transit Tours and Medical Tourism Concierge at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Tuesday, introducing curated city tours and healthcare assistance for layover passengers.
Joined by First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos and Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, the president said the public-private partnership aims to modernize the arrival experience while meeting global standards.
Marcos noted that the reforms reflect the potential of government and private sector collaboration to improve services and prioritize people in governance.
Frasco said the transit program builds on existing hop-on-hop-off bus tours, offering travelers a brief introduction to Philippine culture and heritage. The initiative is expected to generate immediate revenue for local tour guides and transport providers within Metro Manila.
The medical tourism desk will provide travelers with guidance and connections to accredited wellness partners.
Frasco said these initiatives are part of a broader effort to modernize national gateways and compete on the global stage under the administration’s development vision.
The First Couple and Frasco were joined by New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. president Ramon Ang to unveil the All-Filipino Food Hall and the Mezzanine Food Hall.
The 15 homegrown brands in the main hall and 17 standalone restaurants in the mezzanine area offer regional dishes and expanded dining spaces for passengers.
Ang said the new facilities provide travelers with a distinct taste of Filipino flavors, whether as a first impression or a final meal before departure. The infrastructure improvements are designed to enhance convenience and comfort within the terminal.
