ING Hubs expands role as global technology hub

ING Hubs Philippines is moving beyond its role as a traditional delivery center to take ownership of critical global banking platforms as global financial institutions shift their focus from technology access to responsible scaling.

The hub currently supports retail and wholesale banking activities across more than 40 countries, balancing rapid innovation with strict regulatory discipline and operational resilience.

With a technology workforce of more than 1,800 professionals, the Manila-based hub expects to expand its headcount by 20 percent over the next 12 to 24 months.

Despite a competitive labor market, the center maintains an attrition rate of aboout 5 percent, significantly lower than the industry average for technology talent.

The stability allows the hub to manage customer-facing platforms, transaction processing and payments at scale while drawing on decades of local expertise.

The evolution of the facility reflects a broader industry trend where global banks organize technology work around capability ownership rather than simple execution.

Under the leadership of ING Hubs Philippines country manager Hazel Zaide Delos Santos, the teams have expanded their remit to include end-to-end responsibility for systems spanning retail, wholesale, and enterprise platforms used worldwide.
