Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of U.S.-based RTX Corp., is expanding its footprint at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Tanauan City, Batangas, following a new agreement signed Jan. 8.
The expansion will add 7,846 square meters to the company’s existing facility to support operational efficiency and rising global demand. The new facility is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026.
“FPIP has been instrumental as Collins has incrementally grown its Philippine-based operations, capabilities and expertise since 2012,” said Mary DeStaffan, Collins Aero-space’s Philippine campus general manager. “This growth is critical for Collins to best support the rapidly growing aviation industry in-country and region, as well as airliners and airframers around the globe.”
Yutaro Kuryu, FPIP senior vice president and head of the industrial business group, said the expansion strengthens the country’s role in the global aerospace supply chain.
“This expansion reflects the growing demand for advanced aerospace manufacturing in the Philippines and highlights FPIP’s capability to support companies like Collins Aerospace as they expand while creating jobs for Filipinos,” Kuryu added.
Collins Aerospace produces aircraft cabin interior components, including galleys, lavatories and seating systems. The company recently manufactured new economy class seats for Philippine Airlines’ refurbished Airbus A321ceo fleet.
FPIP is a 600-hectare industrial park established in 1996 as a joint venture between First Philippine Holdings Corp. and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp. The estate hosts more than 150 locators and employs nearly 80,000 workers.
RTX is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company. It operates through three major businesses: Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.
