Asia United Bank (AUB) has expanded the international reach of its HelloMoney e-wallet to China and more than 60 other countries through a partnership with Alipay+, the bank said Tuesday.
The expansion allows more than 6,000,000 HelloMoney users to pay for goods and services abroad by scanning Alipay+ QR codes with funds drawn directly from their Philippine peso accounts. China joins the existing network for the digital wallet which already includes Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
In December 2025, the bank added 48 countries to its coverage including the United States, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Turkey and 30 European nations.
AUB president Manuel A. Gomez said the partnership removes common barriers Filipinos face during foreign travel.
“Our partnership with Alipay+ empowers Filipinos with unprecedented international payment access. With this expansion, HelloMoney is removing long-standing barriers in foreign travel and ensuring that every Filipino can enjoy safe and convenient digital payments abroad,” Gomez said.
