New BBWI facility boosts Bacolod water supply

Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. (BBWI), a subsidiary of Tubig Pilipinas Holdings Inc. under Pure Energy Holdings Corp., inaugurated its second water treatment plant serving Bacolod City and Murcia.

The P1.5-billion facility, inaugurated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., will boost BBWI’s capacity to 40 million liters per day (MLD), about 40 percent of Bacolod’s water demand, with infrastructure designed to expand to 60 MLD. Together with its existing facility, BBWI can serve up to 750,000 residents.

Tubig Pilipinas continues its national expansion with the 50-MLD Jaclupan Bulk Water Supply Project in Talisay City, Cebu, expected to be operational within the year.

Its current operational plants include locations in Nueva Ecija, Negros Occidental, Samar, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Cavite, Palawan, Pangasinan, and Cebu.
