The Bases Conversion and Development Authority has approved a one-year extension of the interim operations and maintenance contract for Golfplus Management Inc. and Duck Sports and Music Productions Inc. to keep John Hay Golf open to the public.
The extension ensures uninterrupted operations of the golf course in Camp John Hay through 2026. The BCDA said the move allows continued access for golfers, residents and visitors while long-term arrangements for sustainable management are finalized.
BCDA president and chief executive Joshua Bingcang said the stewardship of the his-toric course remains a priority, with a focus on preserving its character while ensuring responsible management.
“Extending the interim management ensures uninterrupted operations while safe-guarding public access and maintaining the quality of services expected by golfers and visitors,” Bingcang said.
Under the extended engagement, the interim management will organize the BCDA Chairman’s Cup in 2026 and continue implementing facility and amenity improve-ments. It will also continue hosting major events and tournaments to reinforce the course’s position as a premier recreation destination in Baguio City.
John Hay Golf will remain open to the public, with various playing rights and access options available, subject to green fees.
Recently, John Hay Golf and the Baguio Country Club hosted the Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament, one of the longest-running amateur golf competitions in the Asia-Pacific region.
The facility is also supporting the future of Philippine golf through a partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission and the National Golf Association of the Philip-pines. The program grants free access to children aged 18 and younger to encourage early talent development.
The BCDA said the contract extension reflects its commitment to keeping the course an inclusive and well-managed public asset.
