The Department of Transportation and the Department of Information and Communica-tions Technology on Thursday rolled out the Free Wi-Fi for All program across EDSA Busway stations to enhance connectivity for daily commuters.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said the initiative aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s mandate to bridge the digital divide through free public internet access.
“After our success with the MRT, we are bringing connectivity to the EDSA Carousel,” Aguda said. “As of today, passengers at 17 bus stations will have access to fast and free internet.”
The DICT’s program provides complimentary internet access in key public areas, in-cluding government offices, schools, hospitals and transport terminals.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering a modern and seamless commuting experience.
“In December, we implemented cashless payment options for the MRT-3,” Lopez said. “Today, we are building on that momentum by providing free Wi-Fi at 17 key stations along the EDSA Busway.”
The EDSA Busway served a total of 66,669,287 passengers in 2025, a significant in-crease from the 63,022,953 passengers recorded in 2024. Recent data shows a record monthly ridership of 6,530,415 passengers in December 2025, with a single-day peak of 321,186 recorded in April 2025.
To date, the EDSA Busway project has served a cumulative total of 341,307,843 pas-sengers since it began in June 2020.
The project is a flagship initiative of the DOTr, supported by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. It aims to enhance mass transit efficiency, safety and accessibility along EDSA, the main thor-oughfare of Metro Manila.
